Thursday May 13th I hosted my cleanup. It went amazing and we put a nice dent in the trash that pollutes the environment of the Dump Jumps.

1.) So far in my project I plan to have my first cleanup this Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30. I plan to have at least 5-6 participants. So far I have faced some obstacles gaining resources for the cleanup, but I have figured it out and now have efficient resources.
2.) 3 wins I have had so far are being able to communicate with new people, be able to help the community in a positive way, and combine it with something I love. 3.) At first I had a couple things I needed help with, but now I have managed to figure those things out and don't need assistance anymore. Volunteers I have gathered so far. (List is not finished)1.) On Thursday we bettered our knowledge on the 20% project by sharing our ideas with our peers in the class. In doing so we gained feedback from fellow classmates and were tasked with putting that feedback in effect.
2.) My plan for today is to begin work on creating flyers to hang up around town. I also plan on creating a schedule for cleanup times. 1.) How did you come to choose your 20% project idea?
Being an avid mountain biker I wanted to find a way to get back to the community and combine it with something I love. Many local trails in Durango, Colorado are littered with trash and it is a sight I hate to see. So my 20% project idea is to organize a cleanup for a local jump spot called the "Dump Jumps." 2.) What are your goals for the week? My goals for the week are to organize a list of participants to help me with my goals. I will contact people via email On the 20th of April we started the 20% project. I decided to focus on cleaning up an area called the Dump Jumps, which is a popular place for mountain bikers to ride. Over the years it has collected lots of trash since it was used to be a homeless camp. My goal is to round up a group of volunteers and hold a group cleanup.
